Create, import and copy race classes

Maintain race classes one by one, import them from Excel or copy them from another competition, and set late entries, pool boats and boat names.

The race classes are in the workspace under “Race classes”, tab “Entry conditions”. The second tab, “Qualification & schedule”, belongs to running the competition; see Create races and draw lanes.

What a race class defines

  • Number (for example 3012) and name; the order in the program follows the “Sort order” field or, if it is empty, the number.
  • Boat class, age class, gender, distance.
  • Crew size, substitute seats and coxswain.
  • Age: minimum and maximum age, optionally an average age. Age counts in the year of the competition.
  • Entry fee and late entry fee (the late entry fee is added to the entry fee).
  • Its own deadlines and start time if they differ from those of the competition; otherwise the competition deadlines apply.
  • Whether late entries and pool boats are allowed and whether a boat name is required, optional or disabled (otherwise the competition setting applies).

Late entries are only possible if the competition and the race class allow them.

Many classes at once

  • Excel import: Upload an XLSX file. The preview shows for each row whether the class is new, changed, unchanged or a conflict; if there are conflicts, the import is blocked. If the boat class or age class columns are missing (as in the DKV class list), the import derives them from the name. You can take over or remove dates and deadlines from the file; if they do not fit the competition, the preview suggests “Remove”.
  • “Export Excel (import format)” returns the classes in exactly this format, for example to edit them and import them again.
  • Copy: Takes over the classes of another competition of the same organization. The preview shows how many are copied or skipped, and you choose what happens to their own dates (“Shift by n days”, “Remove”, “Copy unchanged”).

List and entries

The list can be sorted, searched and filtered and shows the current number of entries for each class. The “Actions” menu of each class contains “View registrations”, “Edit” and “Delete”. “View registrations” lists the boats of the class with club, crew, race-day status and late entry status; there you can also withdraw or delete boats.
