Create
- Open Competitions and choose “Create competition” (Create competition).
- Choose the organization, enter the name and optionally the sport and dates. Only the name is required.
- The new competition is a draft; clubs do not see it yet.
- It takes the time zone, currency, contact and bank details from the organization's defaults; you change them in the master data.

The setup wizard then opens.
The setup wizard (eight steps)
- Basics: name, sport, dates.
- Venue & contact: address, water, contact. “Check the address on OpenStreetMap” checks the address.
- Deadlines: entry deadline for boats and athletes, allowing late entries and the late entry deadline, boat names (required, optional, disabled), national or international.
- Race classes: copy them from another competition or import them as Excel; see Create, import and copy race classes.
- Fees & bank: currency, bank details (owner only), template for the payment reference.
- Camping & meals: camping and meals with a deadline, a late booking deadline and permission for late bookings.
- Documents & text: the announcement and other files and texts.
- Review & publish: summary of all details and the readiness check; see Publish a competition.

Each step saves on its own with “Save and continue”. You can open the wizard again later from the competition overview.
Deadlines and times
- You enter the boat entry deadline, athlete entry deadline and late entry deadline with date and time (24-hour). They apply in the competition's time zone.
- The deadlines for camping and meals are dates only and apply until 23:59 of that day in the competition's time zone.
Time zone
Every competition has the time zone of its venue; the portal shows all deadlines, start times, documents and results of the competition in this zone. A new competition takes the time zone of its organization (see Create an organizer and invite your team).
In the master data, choose a different zone under “Time zone” and confirm with “Apply time zone”. The deadlines keep their time of day: 18:00 stays 18:00 in the new zone. As soon as there are entries or races, the time zone can no longer be changed.
- The portal immediately rejects contradictory deadlines, for example an athlete entry deadline before the boat entry deadline or a late entry deadline before the regular deadline.
Take over data from another competition
In the master data, “Load data from another competition” takes over the settings of another competition of the same organization. You choose what happens to the dates: “Shift by n days” (default), “Remove” or “Copy unchanged”. Copied deadlines keep their time of day in this competition's time zone.
The competition workspace
All pages of a competition are in the navigation under “Competitions”, grouped by phase: Overview, Preparation (Master data, Race classes, Qualification modes, Camping, Meals), Registration (Boats, Clubs, Athletes, Cost statements), Programme (Daily schedule, Team leaders, Officials, Print & export), Live (Publication) and Closed (Reports). The header shows the name, date and current phase and has a search field for boats, athletes, clubs and races.
The phase follows automatically: not published = Preparation; published until the entry deadline = Registration; after that Programme; from the first competition day Live; after the last competition day Closed. The phase determines what clubs may still do themselves.
